I have a new sport. Well, not really new. I have been exercising Crossfit for almost one year and a half. My bro is my inspiration. Or, maybe, Victoria Beckham. I like about Crossfit because I am learning to control my whole body to do a specific movement, not just training the strength of separate groups of muscle. This helps me have a better sense of my balance, body awareness, and posture. I think little kids will learn Crossfit very well because, for some reason, they just know how to jump, climb, or swim.
Anyway, there are some lessons that I have learned from this sport that I really like: 1. Set your goal. Believe that you can do it. Done. Don't hesitate or doubt yourself in the middle of the movement. 2. Have people watching your back so that you are confident pushing your limit. So when you do back squat, you'd better have two friends at two sides of the barbell so that you can feel safe to carry more weight. 3. The heavier the weight you want to hold over your head, the better balance you have to train your body to be used to. The core muscle is important. 4. The only person you compete with is yourself, and most of the time, you can handle more weight than you think (at least double of it). But you should have an expert around to correct your movement to avoid injury. 5. Being humiliated helps you grow. I am not sure how this idea related to Crossfit, but it was on the wall of NYC Box. I cling to it through hard times. 6. to be updated. I hope that you will try and enjoy Crossfit too.
